Rose M. Harriet,
MS, LPC, RPT-S™, RST-CT, ACS
Owner & Clinical Director
-
Rose Harriet, MS, LPC, RPT-S™, RST-CT, ACS, is the owner and Clinical Director of Counseling and Play Therapy Center, LLC, a Wyoming counseling practice specializing in Experiential Play Therapy and Jungian/Kalffian Sandplay Therapy. She has created a practice centered on the belief that meaningful therapy begins with relationship, curiosity, and respect for each person's unique story.
Before becoming a counselor, Rose spent 18 years as an educator, an experience that continues to shape her understanding of children, families, schools, and the many systems that influence a child's emotional well-being. With more than two decades of experience as a professional counselor, she has devoted much of her career to helping children and families while also mentoring and supervising clinicians as they develop their own therapeutic identities.
Rose is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor™, Registered Sandplay Therapist-Consultant/Teacher, and Approved Clinical Supervisor. Her clinical interests include Experiential Play Therapy, Jungian/Kalffian Sandplay Therapy, expressive approaches, trauma-informed care, and the emotional and developmental needs of children and adolescents.
As Clinical Director, Rose provides supervision, consultation, and professional development to the clinicians at Counseling and Play Therapy Center. Her leadership philosophy emphasizes both high clinical standards and professional autonomy. She believes therapists do their best work when they are supported, challenged to continue learning, and encouraged to approach their clients with humility rather than assuming the role of expert.
At the heart of Rose's work is a simple philosophy: the client has access to their own psyche; the therapist is invited into that world. Whether sitting beside a child in the playroom, witnessing a Sandplay process, working with a family, or supervising another clinician, Rose strives to remain curious about what is unfolding rather than rushing to interpret or provide answers.
Rose is also the co-founder of the Play Therapy Training Institute of Wyoming, through which she provides advanced continuing education and professional training in play therapy and Jungian/Kalffian Sandplay. She has served in leadership roles within professional play therapy and Sandplay organizations and has provided training, consultation, and supervision to mental health professionals in Wyoming, across the United States, and internationally.
After more than 45 years in Wyoming, Rose considers the state home and remains deeply committed to expanding access to high-quality mental health services for Wyoming's children, families, and communities.
When she isn't directing the practice, teaching, supervising, or thinking about the next training she wants to create, Rose continues to be guided by the same qualities she asks of the clinicians she mentors: stay curious, remain humble, keep learning, and never underestimate the healing power of a safe relationship.
